Happy “Not so Happy” Valentine’s Day?
Ahhh. The holiday we have all been waiting for (or avoiding). The day of romance, love, gifts, passion, and intimacy. Right? Well, maybe not this year around.
This year Valentine’s Day weekend falls during an interesting time astrologically and energetically. Instead of passion and romance, this weekend may bring chaos and destruction due to the fact that the Mars in Taurus transit will be dominating this energy. We just had a New Moon in Aquarius on 2/11 that ushered in a period of “manifesting our future”. These next 30 days are going to be dedicated to us making space for our desired future to materialize in the future. However, this New Moon period is squaring Mars in Taurus. Mars in Taurus is all about focusing our energy only on things of value to us (our priorities). The “square” aspect brings about tension and uncomfortable energy between two placements. So with the New Moon squaring Mars in Taurus there is going to be “conflict” that has to result to allow us to focus on investing (Taurus) into our future (Aquarius). Mars is all about destruction and Taurus is all about our foundation so if there is anything disrupting this foundation, chaos will result (think of a Tower moment) to “rebalance” the scales. With Moon energy surrounding emotional fulfillment and our soul, anything that is no longer aligned to these energies in our life will be removed. Moon energy also represents secrets so things may come to light that can also result in arguments that cause us to push people and things out of our lives (especially with the Sun (bringing light to something) conjunct the New Moon AND the Sun squaring Mars in Taurus (so things coming to light that bring about conflict). Mars in Taurus energy is ferociously stripping down any + everything that is affecting the foundation in our life.
Now, how does love come into play? One, Taurus is ruled by Venus - the planet of love and relationships. Also, this is happening during the weekend of Venus (Valentine’s Day). Also, Mars in Taurus will be squaring (causing conflict with) Venus. This conflict may result from an argument as Mars in Taurus is also squaring Mercury. This conflict also will bring a transformation as Mars in Taurus is trining Pluto - the planet of transformation, life, and death. Because we are in Mercury in Retrograde territory this can involve past partners or could serve for the purpose of much needed closure (even if the closure doesn’t end so nicely).
It is important to note that this doesn’t HAVE to revolve around love. This can involve family, friends, social groups, careers, passions, hopes and dreams, etc. This New Lunar cycle is going to focus on all aspects of life. I also picked up on the fact that some of us will get shocking or random conversations from people we didn’t expect or unexpected news/information. Also keep in mind that this Lunar cycle is going to last for 29 days and also its effects can continue to linger. So, if this energy doesn’t effect you this weekend it could be the next…or the next. Or, maybe you are ahead of the game and already removed these karmic energies from your life and you won’t be affected. This energy doesn’t have to effect everyone that’s the beauty of free will and personal paths within astrology. For some, this could be completely based around shadow work and inner reflection. Maybe you will be triggered this weekend to go within and heal. Some of us may find that this energy actually brings random downloads and ideas that are going to impact our future. Whatever happens, just remember that any tower moments happening right now is for the purpose of aligning you to a higher vibrational future. Keep this in mind and remember to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
